Well, alright.
Punk Rock Etiquette was "released" yesterday. When I went to check my Amazon stats (as I now obsess over), I noticed that the book was sold out. Weird. So my mom called and told me that she went to a bookstore where she lives (Abilene, TX) and PRE didn't come on the truck because of a publisher's hold. They said that usually means that online sales exceeded expectations, and it kind of throws the bookstore orders off.
So... I guess that's a good thing! Except that the long lines at bookstores across the nation had to be let down. All of those thousands and thousands of people. Turned away. Hey, listen. I'm really sorry about that.
But seriously, what does a book release date really mean? Unless it's, you know, Harry Potter or something. I kind of want to see my book on a shelf in a store. I think it'll make it seem more real, and cause me to bust hump a little more instead of looking at Rubik's Cubes on ebay.
So yeah. Amazon has since restocked the book (my theory is that they had a few extra that they were using to balance wobbly desks), and there are lots of other places to buy the book online. Aaaand in bookstores. Not sure where exactly, but if your local place doesn't carry it, they can surely order it for you. Just give them the title, and maybe the ISBN#, which is 978-1596434158.
Thanks! Thanks for checking out my book and thanks to the team at Roaring Brook Press for being so awesome. Check back here later on for some videos and stuff. And get on the forum! SERIOUSLY.
Truly,
Travis
